The Christian’s i·den·ti·ty

5.The Christian’s identity is to live a life serving others (Galatians 5:13)

For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. (ESV)

The point is this:  Do not use your freedom for selfish fulfillment, but for serving others.  That is the mark of a Christian.

The question you must ask yourself is this:   Does my life have the appearance of a life that is pursuing things primarily for my pleasure?  Do I live in a manner that my wants and expectation are of upmost importance?  The Christian’s identity would be a life that is marked by preferring others.   Am I willing to put others in front of what I want?  Does my life resemble a life of service to others?
