Phase 1 - Fundamentals Course

Biblical Counseling of the East Valley is a ministry of Grace Bible Church and a certified training center for the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors. Our instruction for counseling training is in keeping with the biblical convictions and doctrinal statement of our church. Please read our biblical convictions and doctrinal statement to familiarize yourself with the kind of teaching you can expect throughout this training.

This Phase 1 — Fundamentals course includes 32 hours of in-class instruction. Class will be held on July 26-27 and August 23-24 from 3-9pm on Friday and 9am-7pm on Saturday (with lots of breaks!). Lunch will be provided each Saturday afternoon we hold classes. Topics covered include an introduction to biblical counseling, the nature of the Bible, psychology and Christianity, medical issues in counseling, how people change, essential qualities of competent counselors, forgiveness and conflict resolution, anger, depression, anxiety, discerning mental illnesses, marital issues, communication, biblical sexuality, and biblical parenting.
